Comments about Montrail Torre II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
I used to be a professional guide and purchased these boots at that time. I have given up on them and am now in search of another brand. It has been just a few years but they have never been waterproof and haven't taken any waterproofer I have tried since, including beeswax. Also, nearly every time I gave them another shot and went out on a hike I got a blister on my right heel. Never failed. Once I got one as big as a golf ball while on the AT with a group of teens. I shouldn't have had to use myself as an example of blister care!!!

Comments about Montrail Torre II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
I had the prior version of these boots for 10 years, and they just finally wore out (waterproofing no longer took); I loved the boots so much I bought the same ones. They are comfortable and sturdy, ideal for day hikes and backpacking trips.

Comments about Montrail Torre II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
These are fantastic boots. They fit great, especially if you have feet that are on the wider side. I've given them a beating--two weeks trekking in Patagonia, another two weeks in the Alps with a very heavy load, dayhikes, snow, rain, you name it. They're incredibly comfortable and tough--just make sure you buy at least a half size bigger than your normal shoe size for when your feet expand during hikes.

Comments about Montrail Torre II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
Great boots for everyday all season hikes. Not recommended for real hot summer days, although they don't make your foot too hot. I've experienced a bit of trouble up and down hills with loose rocks. The sole is very rigid so you don't feel rocks, but can be a bit slippery on pebbles on a slope or when wet. Keeps my foot in place at all times. No slippage.

The first pair of these I bought, I wore into Dinosaur National Monument on a canyoneering trip. They performed great and were comfy for a long 10+ mile technical canyoneering trip with rappels. However, the stitching on the left boot above the arch came unravelled. Of course, [...] accepted them back for an exchange and the pair I currently have has held up for more than a year now.

Comments about Montrail Torre II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
Used extensively in backcountry hikes throughout the Sierras and the boots help up to the task beautifully. Prolonged class 3 scrambling around the North Palisade and Evolution Valley without any problem. Solid waterproof midweight niking boots. The soles did wear out considerably after one season, but it took far more abuse than most mountaineering boots can handle.
