I use this balaclava to go snow boarding. It is hands down the best. Only problem is that I only see it online. I keep trying to buy it at REI so I can make sure I get the right size. These are adjustable and pure heaven to board in. The temperature is always perfect, because you can vent just the right amount of air.

Comments about Seirus Hoodz:
I purchased this last year for the main purchase to keep my neck warm. I have arthritis and the cold and wet environments cause a lot of pain. I have wear this when I know it is cold or a lot of wind and it provides me with the added comfort to enjoy the outdoors. I really enjoy it and wished I would have found it earlier.

I've owned almost all face/neck masks available on the market and this is the warmest, because it gives you full neck protection. I weared it in 80-100+ wind gust whiteout condition, works perfect!

Just bought this over the holidays for camping trip in Arkansas. Temps were in the low 20s at night with a brisk wind of prob 15-20 mph. This one piece of gear is perhaps the most useful device I own for keeping warm. I was truley amazed at the utility and adaptability of this garment. It can be used as cap, face, neck protection, or change it up for neck only, head only, or several combinations. Slept with this on and did not even need my hood on Never Summer 0 degree bag.
This is absolutely the best designed, cold weather head gear I have come across, and while you may look like the unibomber wearing it, you sure wont be cold. :)

I can't speak to the durability yet as I've only used it over a 2-day trip but I'm sold on this thing. I think this is the best cold weather head gear you could choose for sitting around in the cold at your base camp and the main reason of course is that it's incredibly warm. But moreso, unlike traditional balaclavas, it can be worn loose around your head, not giving you any of that constricted feeling and still be incredibly warm. It's just plain cozy.
And like a balaclava, it can be worn in many different ways...fully concealed with only a thin eye slot, mask covering the nose, pull it down below the chin, as a neck gaiter, you can keep adjusting it as you like. It has two pull cords that adjust the tension of both the top part along the forehead and the piece that normally covers the nose. Between those, you get a comfortable fit if you do want it a bit tighter.
It's not particularly "wind proof" but in case of high winds, I'd just layer on a good hard shell w/ a hood and you could take 40mph winds in near 0deg temps is my guess. Can't stress how WARM this thing is. Will go with me now on any trip where the early evening temps will dip to below 40.
