NEW FOR '02:
This bike's had a major facelift, with a new compact frame and lighter tubing, but the recreational-rider-friendly geometry and shorter, proportioned-for-women top tube remain.
SMALL:
The Carema's 38cm frame fits the hard-to-fit sub-5-foot crowd.
ALL SORA:
Most bikes at this price use just a few Shimano Sora parts, skimping on brakes and hubs. Not the Carema-you get the whole smooth-shifting Sora package.(Note: Carema slimmed down from 22.7-lbs to 21.6).

AGGRESSIVE COMMUTER:
This tough, drop-off-curbs-and-slalom-potholes commuter is made for urban duty where the biggest obstacles are broken pavement and fast-changing traffic conditions.
HOUSE BRAND:
You won't find Novara in bike shops; it's REI's house brand. This nationwide outdoor products retailer sells a lot of bikes, so they can offer tremendous value-per-dollar.
