REI's Contact Center supports online and catalog customers via phone, e-mail and real-time messaging. We have a state-of-the-art call center, integrated with today's e-mail management tools. We provide sales, service and product information in a customer-focused environment. While we are always seeking qualified applicants for our contact center, our major hiring is in the fall for preparation of the busy holiday season.
Typical positions at the Contact Center are contact center, loss prevention, returns and membership representatives. Many of these positions are seasonal.
The Contact Center is part of our Direct Sales division located in our Distribution Center in Sumner, Washington, 37 miles south of Seattle.
Contact Center Representative
Contact Center Representatives take calls from customers wanting to place orders, update their member information or just ask questions. They are the first line of contact for members and customers. Selling is their primary job, with a focus on building great customer and member relationships.
Loss Prevention Representative
Loss Prevention Representatives are responsible for authorizing credit card transactions and ensuring that all sales are authentic. They will contact banks to verify customer information and customers to ensure any discrepancies are resolved. They are the first line defense in protecting sales from fraud.
Returns Representatives
Returns Representatives are responsible for processing all return packages from customers. They open, evaluate, research, process paperwork and contact customers as needed. They contact customers to offer exchanges or cross sells to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
Membership Services Specialist
Membership Services Specialists are responsible for investigating and resolving all membership and dividend issues. They update member records to ensure dividends are accurate. Attention to detail and accuracy are vital to this position.
