New REI Distribution Center!

We have 90 stores across the country, over 9,000 employees and are leading the competition with our e-commerce sites. In order to accommodate the growth of our company, we are opening a second Distribution Center (DC), located in beautiful Bedford, PA. We hope to have our new DC open to receive product in September 2007 and fully operational by January 2008.

DC Hiring

We will be hiring for various positions at this DC throughout the rest of the year. Check our Job Openings page for current postings.

Hourly warehouse positions will be open in late June of 2007, and you will be able to apply online at that time. We hope to start employees in August and September. Here are some of the positions for which we'll be accepting online applications in June:

  • Lead: Assists the Warehouse Supervisor in maintaining an organized, efficient, productive, accurate, safe and team-oriented workplace.

  • Merchandise Handler: Stocks or picks merchandise as assigned.

  • Receiving Clerk: Receives incoming merchandise in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Marking Clerk: Accurately checks, marks and packages merchandise.

  • Cardboard Clerk: Processes and stages corrugation supplies for recycling and reuse in the DC.

  • Shipping Clerk: Loads cartons of merchandise for safe, secure and accurate shipment to REI retail stores.

  • Wrapping Clerk: Provides prompt and accurate packaging of customer orders to ensure customer satisfaction.

    • We will be hiring part-time and full-time positions, with pay ranges from $9.70 to $14.85/hour. We offer both swing and day shifts. Day shifts may range from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. and swing shifts may range from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
