Mount Kearsarge, Rollins Trail
The southerly approach to the summit of Mount Kearsarge through Rollins State Park is a perfect outing for an entire extended family. Thanks to an auto road that scales most of the mountain, even the very young or very old can enjoy a picnic with a view, hike the moderately easy trail to the summit, or learn the workings of an active fire tower. Special attractions: Picnic grounds and long-distance vistas near high altitude trailhead parking, plus easy access to a fire tower with 360-degree views.
