The trail is located about 45 minutes northeast of Moncton on the east coast of New Brunswick. The journey is a 15-mile out-and-back, and is an excellent way to begin a day's excursion exploring the area and its interesting ecology. From Bouctouche, the Forest Trail winds through an Acadian forest, along a salt marsh, and across two rivers before emerging at a parking area directly across from the Eco-Center. The trail is wide, hard-packed, and surfaced with gravel-dust, which makes this an easy ride on a smooth surface with very few climbs or descents. Along the trail there are several benches, scenic rest areas, and interpretive signs identifying the varieties of trees, animals, plants, and wildflowers that inhabit the area.
