Woods Gulch is a lush, streamside canyon near the southern boundary of the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area. The 11-mile Sheep Mountain Trail ascends through Woods Gulch, following the stream drainage in a ponderosa and lodgepole pine forest. This hike takes the first 1.5 miles to a ridge. From the ridge are great views of Marshall Canyon and the Marshall Ski Area.
