Swan Lake, MT
This trail offers a day hiking opportunity for travelers wishing to visit the high country of the Swan Range without having to climb all the way up from the valley floor. The hike offers stunning views of Swan Peak at various points along its length and looks out over the western part of the Bob Marshall Wilderness at its terminus on Inspiration Point. The last part of this hike is not shown on some maps; nevertheless, the trail up Inspiration Point is marked by a trail sign and is quite passable. However, this last portion of trail is probably not wide enough to allow the passage of horses.
