Hardscrabble Peak sits to the north of Sacagawea Peak in the Bridger Mountains. The mountain has three peaks. This hike leads to the southernmost peak at 9,575 feet. The trail follows the drainage between Sacagawea and Hardscrabble Peaks to the 8,963-foot saddle on the Bridger Divide. From Hardscrabble Peak are views of six surrounding mountain ranges—the Gallatin, Madison, Crazies, Tobacco Roots, Elkhorns and Big Belts.
