Red Lodge, MT
Glacier Lake, at 9,700 feet, sits in a bowl surrounded by mountains at the head of Rock Creek Canyon. It is the largest lake in the Rock Creek drainage and is the headwaters of Rock Creek. The steady climb up to Glacier Lake follows the swift, cascading Moon Creek for a half mile, then crosses the creek on a log bridge. There are stunning views of the glacier-carved canyon and fascinating twisted old trees.
