The Dickey Creek Trail is a seldom-used route that follows an old access road up the rather open valley of Dickey Creek. The trail peters out at the foot of the headwall below the lake; a steep scramble is necessary to reach the shores of this scenic gem. This final pitch is far too steep for horses, and is a bit hazardous even for hikers who are unaccustomed to off-trail travel.
