A high alpine lake in the spectacular Crazy Mountains. From the trailhead the first 2 miles of the hike are on the jeep road and are sublimely uphill along Cottonwood Creek. Since this road is closed to the public, there’s no vehicular traffic, which makes it a pleasant walk. The Crazies get lots of snow, so wait until late summer for this trip. Water is everywhere along this route, so you can take the filter and leave the extra water bottles behind.
