Perhaps as a precautionary measure against overuse, most forest maps omit the spur trail to Coquina Lake. But on the ground it is clearly recognizable and offers access to one of the most attractive destinations within a few hours’ travel of Bear Creek Pass. The round trip makes a lovely day hike, well suited for folks looking for a moderate day hike with good scenic value and excellent fishing for rainbow trout. Highlights: An easily accessible mountain lake with numerous campsites and excellent fishing.
