This trail provides a side trip for travelers in the upper valley of Straight Creek. It climbs across the high, open meadows below Cigarette Rock, then continues westward to a pass into the basin of South Fork of the Sun River. From this pass, a scramble up rocky slopes leads to the top of Cigarette Rock, which boasts excellent views of the surrounding country.
