One of the most scenic mountain lakes in the Bitterroot Range. Canyon Creek drains one of the smaller canyons penetrating the east side of the Bitterroots, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in scenic beauty. This is one of the smaller gems in the vast Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. The 2000 fires spared this valley with the exception of a short stretch of burned forest about a mile from the trailhead.
