The lookout atop Boulder Point ranks as one of the Bitterroots’ most underrated and least known destinations. This steep route remains in generally good repair, with only a few downed trees and a poorly defined segment atop School Point to confuse the issue. Use is light—decidedly less than many other trail-accessible Bitterroot peaks. Highlights: A historic L-4 fire lookout with a spectacular panorama.
