Morgan Run Natural Environmental Area
Morgan Run Natural Environmental Area includes approximately 1,400 acres of wonderful hiking and equestrian trails. The entire area has been blissfully left alone, with well-maintained trails but no unnecessary “improvements,” making it a perfect place to “get away from it all.” The first thing you notice at Morgan Run is birds—songbirds flitting about, shuttling from the tall trees to the regenerating fields and their many birdhouses, while within the woods woodpeckers and owls make their incessant noises, hawks and turkey vultures wheel above, and startlingly massive wild turkeys waddle over the trails. Because this hike frequently leads from woods to the edge of fields, you will constantly hear branches cracking and leaves crunching as the creatures move about, but you’ll have a hard time spotting them. Abundant life and energy surround you here.
