Willow Creek & South Rim Trails
Roxborough State Park is a great red rock display. The Willow Creek Trail is essentially a connector trail to the South Rim Trail but can be used as a pleasant almost flat loop alone if you prefer. It provides good views of some of the rock formations. More ambitious and interesting, the South Rim Trail features a sweeping switchback that climbs 300 feet to an overlook with a bench. You’ll experience the 260-million-year-old Morrison Era rocks with their characteristic blue-green algae tinge more intimately.
