The Pool in Winter
The Pool is a water pocket in the Big Thompson River just below its confluence with Spruce and Fern Creeks. The spot is marked by a bridge across the Big Thompson and is an easy hike at nearly all times of the year. Because the trail is on a south-facing slope, the snow cover is relatively slight or absent for most of the winter. Highlights: Arch Rocks, The Pool.
