Signal Mountain Trail
Glen Haven, CO

Signal Mountain Trail
This little used trail offers protection from winds and heat and a tour of a magical river arroyo. It starts off gently following the enchanting streambed for 2 miles. Signal Mountain is a steep climb from there as you accomplish most of the gain in the last 3 miles and climb above treeline and on to the tundra to enjoy the spectacular view. It offers a trip through a beautiful riparian area that features a mixed old-growth forest of aspen, pine, fir, and spruce and striking rock outcrops. It makes a nice any length out-and-back trip; climbing Signal Mountain, however, would be a serious all-day adventure. Another access to Signal Mountain, via the Bulwark Ridge, is at the North Fork/Dunraven Trailhead parking lot. It is 4 steep miles one-way to the summit on a ridge of Signal Mountain, with nice views of the Dunraven Creek valley below.
