Estes Park, CO
The first half of the hike to Lake Haiyaha follows one of the most popular (and crowded) trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. Avoid the crowds and experience the trail at its best by starting early in the day, as soon after sunrise as you can bear. At the beginning of the hike, there are striking views of Hallett Peak above Bear Lake, seen by detouring a few yards from the Dream Lake Trail. The best views at Bear Lake probably are a short distance to the right from where you reach the shore. Highlights: Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, Longs Peak/Glacier Gorge views, Lake Haiyaha.
