Grass Creek Trail / Groundhog Flat
Groundhog Flat is "out there." High on the eastern flanks of Mount Evans, this is a hike on the wild side, offering few signs of civilization and abundant alpine scenery. Along the trail you'll pass the staples of mountain hiking- ancient stands of aspen, ponderosa glades and several spectacular vista points. At trail's end, you can eat lunch in what is left of an old homestead. Savor the seclusion- you'll never feel so along this close to the civilization.
