Flattop Mountain & Hallet Peak Trail
This moderate to challenging hike features some of the best views of the sheer, granite west side of Longs Peak and the magical, glacier sculpture of Glacier Gorge with a majestic, bird’s-eye view of Bierstadt, Sprague, Bear, Dream, and Black lakes. The west side of Longs Peak and the famous Keyboard of the Wind (ridgetop rock sentinels) sweep into Black Lake, and Hallet’s sharp prow becomes ever more impressive as you climb into the sky. You can enjoy these views covering part of the trail to the overlooks, without summiting Flattop.
