Black Cloud Trail to Mount Elbert
Beat the crowds on an unusual, less-traveled, somewhat longer route up Mount Elbert on a spectacular, but steep trail and use your map, compass (or GPS), and mountaineering skills in the process. As you climb you will have superb views of 14,000foot La Plata Peak to the south.
