Crested Butte, CO
Kebler Pass, west of Crested Butte, is justifiably famous as an “autumn gold” drive. It could also qualify as a flower-filled drive. And better yet, as an access to wonderful wildflower trails, such as the Cliff Creek Trail to Beckwith Pass. “Bountiful” describes both the flowers and the landscape on the approach to the pass. Popular with horseback riders, the trail navigates some muddy spots and alternates between open meadows and spruce-fir forested areas. Over 70 species of wildflowers and excellent scenery grace the thousand-foot vertical gain. Wildflower Alert: This hike presents a myriad of wildflowers, highlighted by lush swales wallowing in giant corydalis.
