Bear Lake Nature Trail
The paved, mostly level trail around Bear Lake is very popular. Nonetheless, it offers many opportunities for unspoiled views as well as photographs of the landscape, close-ups of patterns on tree trunks and boulders, wildlife portraits, and dramatic settings for people pictures. Around stop twelve are magnificent views across the lake to Longs Peak and the other high mountains surrounding Glacier Gorge. This perspective of Longs is best enjoyed in late afternoon. Anytime of day, however, is a wonderful time to enjoy the beauty the Bear Lake area has to offer. Highlights: Views of Hallett Peak and Longs Peak, natural history points of interest.
