Yoga for Winter Sports
Description: Practicing yoga is an excellent way to develop strength, balance, and flexibility - especially for those getting ready to hit the slopes. Join REI's professional yoga instructor for a one hour in-store class tailored to condition your body and build your confidence for an enhanced season on the snow. Whether you are a skier or snowboarder, this class incorporates alignment-based vinyasa and restorative sequencing to help you limber up before heading downhill. This is an all level class designed specifically for winter sports athletes with little or no previous yoga experience. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
Skills you'll learn:
- Provide participants with increased awareness of body awareness and posture
- Provide guidance on technique, clothing, and other equipment
- Increase knowledge and understanding of yoga
Required Legal Form:
This course requires the participant to read and sign a liability release form before participating. Please see "Required Legal Form" for the session you are registering for. You will need to print, sign and bring the form to your class.

Gear to bring to class:
- Water Bottle
- Yoga appropriate clothing - Avoid loose shorts and tops with hoods, as poses may be upside down or wide-legged. Beware of exposing more than expected. Fitted clothes allow greater ease of movement. Moisture-wicking fabric won't stick when bending and offers quick-dry comfort.
