Description: Join us for an overnight paddling trip designed for beginners or those who want to expand their paddling adventures. During this 2-day, 1-night outing, you'll kayak to a gorgeous destination and learn essential overnight touring skills as well. Learn about overnight touring gear, packing your kayak and essential trip planning tips. Conditions encountered will be fresh water, mild current, mild winds, and pebble and sandy beaches. This class is ideal for those looking to try multi-day kayak touring, or anyone looking for a new camping adventure-with the added benefit of the boat carrying the weight of your gear! We'll teach you about packing and loading camping gear into kayaks, and how to set up an eco-conscious camp in a marine environment. Kayaking and camping gear and all meals are provided. Learn to Kayak or equivilent skill reccomended. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.

Skills you'll learn:

Learn the basics of planning an overnight kayak trip, what to pack and how to pack it in a kayak. Learn techniques of how to efficiently propel a loaded kayak over 3 miles in variable conditions including wind and mild current. Learn rescue techniques and paddle strokes Additional skills such as planning for changing conditions, what to wear and other trip planning logistics and LNT will also be taught over the 2 day course. Learn to set up an eco-conscious camp in a marine environment.
