Basic Outdoor Photo Techniques Class
Description: Learn techniques that will enable you to transform would-be snapshots into beautiful compositions. Our helpful REI Outdoor School instructors will teach you how aperture, shutter speed and ISO relate to exposure. Depth of field and the Rule of Thirds and their creative potential will be introduced, and we'll even demystify the megapixel. See examples of successful photographs and discuss what makes them work. Photographers of all levels using film or digital cameras are encouraged to attend. Bring your camera with its owner's manual.
Skills you'll learn:
Learn to frame photos to achieve beautiful effects and to go beyond simple snap-shots. Eliminate distractions, utilize human subjects, and apply techniques of Rule of Thirds and leading lines. Learn basic functionality of your camera in various outdoor environments.
