About Vasque

Vasque boasts a deep history of turning out durable, well-designed hiking and outdoor footwear for men, women and kids. Company founder William Sweasy ventured to Europe in 1965, where he witnessed first-hand the hiking craze that was sweeping the Old World. Anticipating the trend stateside, Sweasy introduced his first hiking boots that same year.

Vasque has since earned a vaunted place in outdoor recreation by combining innovative footwear design with fit, performance and trail-worthy materials. The company expanded on its original hiking boot design to create acclaimed shoes for running, cross-training, backpacking and other outdoor fitness pursuits.

Anyone who's ever wandered down a hiking trail has seen it. The iconic brown Vasque Sundowner boot is still inspiring hiking and mountaineering footwear designs some 25 years after its introduction.
