About Kelty

In 1952, Colorado carpenter Dick Kelty began making backpacks in his home garage as gifts for friends. Wool carpeting had to do for padding and wife Nena chipped in with the sewing. Soon these handmade gems were turning a profit and the Kelty brand was incorporated.

Sixty years later, Kelty remains a hiking and backpacking industry frontrunner. Their packs have remained popular, thanks to classic, proven designs and features such as stability-enhancing adjustment and suspension padding.

Kelty has the whole family loving the outdoors with pack versions for men, women and kids. And their award-winning child carriers are engineered with particular care to keep parent and baby secure and comfortable during hikes.
