New for 2012! New York's "Gunks" are one of North America's world-class rock climbing destinations. Located only 90 miles from the heart of the big city, this is a legendary climbing getaway. Our three-day rock climbing program is well suited for beginners and intermediate climbers alike.
On this introductory course we spend time at two climbing areas in Pisgah National Forest learning rope handling, knots and belaying as well as lots of practice on the rock.
Crescent Rocks and Elizabeth Furnace are the perfect places for beginners to learn the fundamentals of rock climbing. Our introductory course will focus on the essential basics: equipment use, rope handling and movement on the rock. All meals, tent camping, technical equipment and instruction are provided.
