Thank you for your interest in REI!
Over 70 years ago, 23 Seattle-area mountaineers got together to form the REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.) cooperative. This hardy group of climbers was seeking quality gear at a fair price, the same values that define REI today. Since then, millions of outdoor enthusiasts have joined REI, making us the nation's largest retail co-op.
