    Bought the long because the regular length was not available from REI at the time. When I received it, I was concerned that it was a little too big and loose (I'm only 6'; bag is designed for 6'6") and that it was a little thin on insulation.

    Used it the first time on a scout campout that got down to 10 degrees (scout are good at keeping official temps at campouts). Kept me very toasty -- no need to use my bag liner, and I actually removed a couple of layers of fleece because it got too warm: and my hat too -- the hood system works great.

    One bonus of getting the long bag that I hadn't thought of before buying it: you can stick your boots in the bottom of the bag to keep them warm for the morning. (Bring along a plastic bag or old stuff sack to keep the dirt out.)

    Not quite as light as I would have liked (half a pound heavier than the regular length bag), but it packs down nicely and easily fits into the bag compartment of an REI Mars backpack. Also, it doesn't have a pocket inside the bag for a flashlight, cellphone, etc.

      Bought a pair of these for my grandsons so we could go car-camping together.

      Something to note - unlike many bags, this bag does NOT come with a cotton storage bag. This is a necessary accessory for most of us, and will add $$ to total cost if you're price-conscious, as I was.

      One other thing - if'n you buy two and think you might want to zip'em together, be sure to order right/left zippers. I got two rights, which doesn't matter to me much, but it might to you.

      I took this camping over the weekend and was pretty happy with it. It felt a little snug in the shoulders, but it is a mummy bag. It packed down to a nice compact size and I think it's a pretty good price.

          Great bag for the price ! If you are a beginer like me it fits the bill nicely. I looked at bags that are much better and way more money, This baby will do just fine until I want to go snow camping. (next year) Also I am six feet and I am glad I bought the long bag for sure.

            My son hasn't used it yet on the trail but trying it out at home, he was pleased. It is roomier in the shoulder area than the previous bag he had -- and while "long" it isn't too long. He is looking forward to using it in Canada this August.

            The only real negatives -- couldn't tell if the compression sack it came with (which is nice) was waterproof/water-resistent. Also is extremely difficult to get the bag back into the sack without really wrestling with it.

              Compair this bag to others in its catagory and it's a no brainer. Will you find some lighter ? Yes. Will you find some that pack smaller ? Yes. Will they cost tree to five times more ? Yes. It comes with a great comprestion sack, and has an ajustable hood. Yeah the zipper can sick sometimes, but if you don't rush it, it's fine.

                  This bag delivers! For the price I don't mind the extra weight. There are far more expensive bags in this weight and temp class that are just as heavy. I doubt you can find a better bag as far as comfort and quality.
